The project is based on the modernisation of all business processes through the purchase and installation of the various hardware tools needed to transform the company into a true digital factory.
The new hardware elements essentially consist of servers, tablets and user-machine interface screens and allow full interconnection between the machines and the management systems, which have been replaced with software running according to Industry 4.0 criteria.
To support the company’s technological renovation project, an obsolete extruder was replaced with a new one interconnected with the logic of Industry 4.0 and whose installation is consistent with the new factory systems included in the project.
To complete the project, a new dust collector (a bag filter) required for purifying the air inside the working environment was also installed, which is also interconnected and conforms to the requirements of Industry 4.0, as well as equipped with various sensors and alarms that improve the safety of workers and the factory.

Some of the effects obtained from the implementation of the project include:

• interconnection between management, purchasing, logistics, production;


• improved data collection on production performance and product costs;


• increased production (because of the new extruder);


• reduced energy requirements per unit of product;


• improved factory logistics;


• improved safety and air quality in working environments;
